The Höchsten really is the high point

hoechsten hoechsten

On the highest mountain on the northern bank of Lake Constance and the highest in Upper Swabia. Or more precisely put: 433 m above Lake Constance and 833 m above sea level, yet only 17 km from Lake Constance. With a fantastic panorama, it is a popular holiday destination in every season and a viewpoint well worth the visit.

And the special location of the Höchsten is also the reason for its clear climate: While muggy heat engulfs the lake, a refreshing breeze blows up here - while fog clouds the view and mood below, we often enjoy sunshine and a clear view of the Alps up here.

The landscape shapes the people - that is perhaps the explanation for our philosophy of life: down-to-earth, in tune with nature and with warm hospitality.

Family business with tradition

The special nature of this lofty location was recognised over 350 years ago by the religious group "Heiligen zu Limpach", who built this house in 1650. And because the people were already taken with this place back then and enjoyed spending their time here, the guest house has been in operation since 1724.

Around 160 years ago, the Kleemann family came into play: Ignaz Kleemann bought the farm with guest house and established this richly traditional family business. Since then, the Höchsten mountain guest house has been constantly developed, extended and upgraded into what it is today: A modern 3* hotel and an exquisite restaurant. That also means 160 years of hospitality and experience - 160 years spent ensuring that people enjoy good times up here; and the numerous regulars are our best endorsement.

Regina and Hans Peter Kleemann are part of this tradition: delivering the best to guests with experience and constant development.

On high with a far-reaching view

On clear days you have Lake Constance at your feet and the alpine panorama with over 160 peaks stretching from east to west. weitblick

The good mood mountain

berg   When fog clouds the spirits "down below" in the wintertime, up here we are usually blinking in the sunshine and our spirits are lifted by the view over the expansive sea of mist. Surrounded by hoarfrost and crunchy snow, a walk, toboggan ride or cross-country skiing outing is an inviting prospect - right in front of the hotel.

The lake within view and reach

Here, you stay close by the lake, yet in peace and quiet in the hinterland - even during the high season.

It is a good 20 km to the bathing beach, sailing school, harbour esplanade and the many other truly worthwhile lakeside destinations.
